Latest information concerning hand baggage can be found here
The main London airports for International flights are Heathrow (LHR) and Gatwick (LGW) while London City (LCY), Luton (LTN) and Stansted (STN) airports are used for domestic and European flights. All the London airports are located close to the M25 which is a circular motorway running around London at a radius of around 15 to 17 miles. Transfers are relatively easy except in the morning and evening rush hours (which actually last several hours!) Sunday evening traffic can be very heavy on roads leading to London. You will need to allow extra time for taxi transfers - ground transportation during these times. We will gladly advise you of the likely transfer times.

Boarding normally starts 45 minutes prior to departure.
We will generally set you down with your baggage in the drop off area of the relevant terminal. If you are unsure of the terminal you should check this information before commencing your journey. You must have the all the relevant flight information so that your chauffeur can check the terminal details. All ground transportation to the airports during the morning and evening rush hours will be difficult due to heavy traffic conditions. You will need to allow extra time for the transfer service. We prefer to get you there early rather than late and with the possibility of missing your flight. The choice however is yours.
London Airports - Arrival Information
It will take a minimum of 20 to 30 minutes from the time your flight lands for you to exit the airport depending on delivery of baggage. If you do not have a European passport it will take between 45 to 60 minutes to clear UK immigration formalities.
If however you are only carrying cabin luggage and hold a european passport you could be out in 10 to 15 minutes of landing. If this is likely to be the case, then please notify us in advance as your chauffeur usually arrives at the airport 30 minutes after the advertised landing time of your aircraft.
Your XL Cars chauffeur will meet you in the Arrivals Hall near the exit from HM Customs. Your chauffeur will be holding a greeting board headed with our company name (or, in the case of corporate clients, the name of the company who engaged us) together with your name and flight number. Your chauffeur will assist you with your luggage and ensure that you are comfortably settled in our vehicle before commencing the journey.
